Style Feature: BARON AMATO

Recently we posted wordsmith BARON AMATO's 1st and 15th  piece titled "Chane I Can Belive In". Today we have a interview with AMATO where he gives us a inside to his personal style . Check the interview and some of his work inside.

When it comes to style in hip hop who are some of your favorites?
It's funny cuz my favorite artists don't wear my favorite style. I like Mos Def style, but i'm not a huge fan of his music...and maybe Kanye, when he's not wearing timberland's.

At what age did you start to care about fashion?
Honestly, about 2 years ago, I was about 20. I lost a lot of weight so I had to rebuild my closet and I decide I might as well make good decisions.

Say you were going on a day trip to south beach and had to change 3 times what would you pack?
Easy, Linen Pants, Linen shorts, some sort of neck-piece, brown dress sandals, graphic tee, white t-shirt, and a white button down.

Do you thrift or go vintage shopping ? If so what is your greatest find so far ?
I don't really do thrifting that often, cuz i dont know how to shop at thrift stores, but I found a green Oscar De La Renta blazer for 7 dollars once.

If you had to pick between chucks or vans which would it be?
Gotta be vans, i'm only a fan of the mid top all black chucks.

We recently spoke about your attire at UAB's bsac gala. What was the thought process behind that ?
Frank Lucas. lol Nah, I honestly had never been to a gala, I just know they're real formal, but i knew we were gonna be dancing at this one so I decided to keep it cool. If it looks good together I'll wear it. Everything I had on was already in my closet.

Who and what has influenced your personal style over the years?
My dad. I do all my thrifting in his closet. But he doesn't always agree with what I put on...eh...

We recently posted some of your 1st and 15th video what can those who follow wordsmith AMATO look forward to?
"All natural" which is my second project, coming at the end of the summer, and "Comatose Love Reality: Dead Rhythm"
